The St. Regis Bali Resort

What it is

The St. Regis Bali Resort sits on the sand of Nusa Dua, on the south of the island. The hotel's own page says it has been open since 15 September 2008 and offers suites, villas and residences, each with generous indoor and outdoor living space, in garden, pool or beachfront settings. The villas and residences have direct access to the beach. Some villas open onto the beach and others onto a saltwater lagoon, and each villa has a private pool and a gazebo.

The Tripadvisor listing gives the same picture in the hotel's own words: spacious rooms, suites and villas with outdoor space, and a signature butler service available 24 hours a day. It lists the hotel class as five stars.

Eating and drinking

The hotel counts six restaurants and bars. Boneka serves the breakfast, the Sunday brunch and a dinner buffet; the hotel names a lobster omelette and wagyu steak and eggs among its breakfast dishes. Kayuputi serves pan-Asian food on the beach and a weekend brunch. Dulang serves Balinese dishes inspired by royal traditions, and Gourmand Deli is the casual counter for cakes, chocolates and coffee.

The St. Regis Bar serves afternoon tea and the Bali Mary cocktail, with live jazz and an evening ritual in which a sommelier opens a bottle of champagne with a kris, a traditional ceremonial dagger. The Vista Bar is a swim-up bar facing the beach.

Pools, spa and children

A saltwater lagoon pool winds through the property, according to the hotel. The Iridium Spa offers massages and facials, and the Children's Club runs activities in art, music, cooking, yoga and conservation. At sunset a fire dance is performed by the Grand Staircase, and the lobby has live rindik music, a Balinese bamboo instrument.

Weddings and sustainability

For weddings the hotel names the Cloud Nine Chapel, the beach and a private amphitheatre as venues. On sustainability it lists the end of single-use plastics, its own water filtration and bottling plant, and lower energy and water use, and it reports a Green Globe Platinum certification. These are the hotel's statements, and we have not checked them.

Rooms and the rate

On 22 October 2026 the Tripadvisor listing showed rooms from US$682 a night for one night, 1 to 2 November, for two guests in one room, and Premium Suites from US$696. Tripadvisor says the prices come from its partners, reflect nightly rates including mandatory fees, and exclude taxes. It is a rate for one night, not a quote, and it will differ on other dates.

Who it suits

It suits couples and families who want a resort on the beach in the south of Bali, with a range of restaurants on site, and who value the butler service and the villas with private pools.

It is a poor fit for travelers who want to stay among the rice terraces and temples of Ubud: this hotel is on the coast at Nusa Dua. It is also a high price for a stay of one night, so it rewards a longer visit.
